Forbes recently published an article highlighting the Top 200 Best Places for Businessin the country.   Inspite of the severity of the recession in  our two states, and the slow rate of growth we’ve experienced since June of 2009, our region placed four cities in the top fifty.  Clark County gets counted as part of the Portland Metro area, which ranked 15th overall.  Other communities recognized were Seattle at 13th, Kennwick at 47th and Olympia at 48.

There are a wide range of factors that Forbes builds into it’s rankings,  but one that gets weighted quite heavily is having a major University in close proximity.   As we continue the effort at rebuilding employment here in Clark County lets not take our eye off the  importance that WSUV has played in the past two decades, and more important what it brings to us in the future.
